EAST WHITTIER – No one was wounded in a deputy-involved shooting Tuesday evening in an area of unincorporated Whittier near La Mirada, Sheriff’s officials said. The shooting occurred about 11:55 p.m. at Leffingwell Road and La Mirada Blvd., said Deputy Bill Brauburger of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau. “The deputy was not injured and the suspect was not shot but taken into custody,” he said. According to an eyewitness, the suspect had glass laceration wounds, but it was undetermined how and when he sustained the injuries.
