Lebron Hobbling as Spurs Take Game 1

first_imgSAN ANTONIO – With less than four minutes to play in a see-saw battle, Lebron James of the visiting Miami Heat hobbled to the bench as the San Antonio Spurs extended their razor-thin lead to a 31-9 run  for a 110-95 win in Game 1 of the NBA Finals – a rematch of last year’s battle between these two teams, which the Heat won in 7 games to capture their second straight title. It seems James’ body couldn’t withstand the intense heat as the air conditioning system failed, and cramped up. But with these two teams – arguably, and fittingly, the best in the league – so evenly-matched, it seems highly unlikely the Heat can succeed without him.  Not only is he their top weapon on both ends of the court, he is widely considered the best player in the league.Game 2 is on June 8, also in San Antonio. With the league’s best record, the Spurs have home court advantage. When it comes to overcoming adversity, though, the Heat are better than anyone. But they will have their hands full in Game 2, as they now trail in the series and all eyes are on their superstar.TweetPinShare0 Shareslast_img
