Harbhajan, Yuvraj, Gayle and Tahir shine: Could IPL 2019 be the year of the veterans?

Four teams got the results they were looking for while the remaining four have much to ponder over and improve before playing their second matches in the tournament.One thing which has stood out so far in the first four games is the performance of four of the oldest players in the tournament this year – Harbhajan Singh (38), Yuvraj Singh (37), Chris Gayle (39) and Imran Tahir (39).Harbhajan Singh and Chris Gayle even got the man-of-the-match awards for Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab respectively, while Yuvraj was the top-scorer for Mumbai Indians in their opening game and Imran Tahir also impressed with the ball, picking up 3 wickets in CSK’s opening match.Out of these four players, only Gayle and Tahir are expected to represent their respective countries in the ICC World Cup in May. Yuvraj and Harbhajan have gone off the Indian selectors’ radar but one can never rule them out.
