first_imgFRISCO, Texas – Northwestern State’s Natashia Jackson and Jasmyn Steels are the Southland Conference Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.The Lady Demon duo competed at the Ted Nelson Invitational in College Station, Texas, over the weekend, each taking home a first-place honor. Jackson ran in a trio of events, taking fifth place in the 60-meter dash, second place in the 200m dash and helping the Northwestern State squad to a first-place finish in the 4x400m relay.Steels completed a perfect day Friday, taking home the gold medal in the long jump with a 20-10.75 leap. Her long jump at the meet currently ranks fifth in the nation.Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week – Natashia Jackson, Northwestern State – Sr. – Houston, TexasJackson concluded a busy weekend, producing a trio of top-five finishes for the Lady Demons as Northwestern State won its third consecutive Ted Nelson crown.
